Roses Montreal have their Head Coach!

One of Ligue1 Québec’s winningest coaches named the Montreal soccer team’s Head Coach

Montreal, Quebec, September 11, 2024 –

The Northern Super League’s Montreal club is thrilled to announce that Robert Rositoiu has been named Head Coach. The inaugural season of the new Canadian professional soccer league will kick off in April 2025.

A remarkable career in Ligue1 Québec

A Romanian native who has grown up in Montreal (since 2004), Rositoiu has left his mark on women’s Ligue1 Québec women’s soccer by winning three trophies with the AS Blainville, including the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship in 2022, making him one of the league’s winningest coaches. His success proves his ability to develop talent and achieve results.

Professional experience
Along with his accomplishments in Ligue1 Québec, Rositoiu has played key roles in top-level structures. He worked with the CF Montréal for five years, where he was trained by Philippe Eullaffroy. Until just recently, he was Head Coach of MLS NEXT U16 at the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy.

He was also part of the Canadian national technical staff for the Men U17 during the
Canada-Brazil series in in 2023 and contributed to the development of promising young players for Soccer Québec.


High level training
Rositoiu holds an A Diploma from Canada Soccer and is completing a Master’s in High
Performance Football at Barcelona’s MBP School of Coaches. A polyglot, he is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Romanian.

A rigorous selection process

Rositoiu’s appointment was the result of a meticulous selection process, led by Marinette Pichon with the support of Nick de Santis, an influential figure in the development of soccer in Montreal.

The process was overseen by Bloom Sports, a specialized sports advisory, which has collaborated with the PWHL, the MLS, and the NWSL.

The club is delighted to welcome Robert Rositoiu and is convinced that his leadership and expertise will enable us to aim high in the Northern Super League and even beyond. His ability to train and develop local players will reinforce not only the team’s competitivity but will also contribute to promote and perpetuate women’s soccer in the community.
